Sundarbans, the world's largest delta, is located at the mouth of the Bay of Bengal. The location of Dakop Upazila covers some parts of this Sundarban. It is located in the south of Khulna district.  Distance from Khulna city to Dacope upazila is 27 km. The total area of this upazila is 285.57 square kilometers. Total area including Sundarbans is 991.57 square kilometers. Of this, 22,757 hectares of land is saline. Farmers here are relatively backward. Most of the upazila areas are medium high and medium low. Farmers here have no lack of interest in using modern technology in agricultural production. It is possible to ensure food security in the upazila by creating fresh water reservoirs, converting one-crop land into two-crop and three-crop land, and increasing production through saline water management.
